🚛😂 MEET THE COMMITTEE… ALL THREE OF US! 😂🚛
You may look at the Troy Link Memorial Truck Show and think there’s a whole team of people behind the scenes making everything happen.
Nope. 🤣
There are THREE of us. That’s it.
Rick McMillen, Brittany McMillen & Kristen Murphy.
Three people, approximately 847 text messages a week, 62 ongoing conversations, a pile of paperwork, a million ideas and at least one person at any given moment saying, “Wait… I thought YOU were doing that?!” 😂
So, who does what?
🚛 RICK — “The Face”
Rick is the face of the truck show. He talks trucks, talks to drivers, talks to sponsors, talks to pretty much anyone who will listen. 😂 If something needs done that involves trucks, people, or standing around talking about trucks… send Rick.
💰 BRITTANY — “The Money & Attempted Organization Department”
Brittany pays the bills and attempts to keep the rest of us organized.
We emphasize ATTEMPTS. 🤣
She keeps track of the money, tries to keep us on task and occasionally has to remind the other two that unfortunately, “We should probably pay for that” is an important part of planning an event.
📱 KRISTEN — “The Everything Else Department”
Did you email us? Kristen probably answered it.
Facebook message? Kristen.
Vendor question? Kristen.
Raffle basket? Kristen.
Need something, can’t find something, forgot something, have a random question at 10:47 PM?
…probably Kristen. 😂
She handles the emails, Facebook messages, vendors, raffles and a little bit of everything else — which is committee language for “we’re not exactly sure whose job this is, so Kristen is doing it.” 🤣
Between the three of us, there’s a LOT of:
“Did you call them?”
“I thought YOU called them.”
“Who has that paper?”
“Did we pay that?”
“Kristen, did they email us?”
“Rick, do you know this trucker?”
“Brittany, how much money do we have?”
…and the ever-popular “ADD IT TO THE LIST!” 😂
Somehow, through all the chaos, late-night messages, last-minute ideas and occasional questionable decision-making, we get it done.
Because underneath all the joking and craziness is something the three of us take very seriously — honoring Troy and making this truck show something he would be proud of. ❤️
Every sponsor, truck entry, raffle ticket, vendor and donation helps us continue building the Troy Link Memorial Scholarship Fund and keeping Troy’s memory alive.
We may be a committee of only three…
But apparently nobody told us we were supposed to have more people before we started doing all this. 🤷♀️🤣🚛
