Super Soil!
I make super soil for my indoor garden. With this super soil recipe I use water only throughout the plant life cycle. Generally the plant will not need any food with the exception of seedlings that sometimes grow too large. (I also use sugars later in flower) As the plant enters into flowering, I generally top off the pot with super soil.
I do not use super soil on freshly rooted plants that are transplanted into 1 gallon, I use a base soil ( from ).
I use super soil when I transplant from a 1 gallon into a 10 gallon pot to finish vegging and then flower.
I fill the pot halfway full with super soil (then I make a buffer layer so the roots don't go immediately into SuperSoil) and then fill in around the plant with , also from . If you do not have access to this soil, you can use any good quality soil.
I like to pack my soil down tight after each layer. I like my soil packed down so that I can fit more soil, to avoid holes and spill over from watering, and I feel it makes the plant more robust because it has to work a little to stretch its roots out (the ground isn't soft in nature).
When making this recipe I do the following:
I lay out a large tarp. I spread out 5 of the 9 bags of soil onto the tarp.
Then I measure and all of the dry ingredients (I use ), I like to sprinkle the ingredients evenly over the soil I have on the tarp.
After I am finished adding all of the ingredients I add the last 4 bags of soil to the top.
The ingredients must be mixed very thoroughly. I like to mix for 20 minutes.
This will be enough soil to fill 3 32-gallon trash cans. After the cans are full, water each can with 2 gallons of pH adjusted water and put a tight fitting lid on.
Store the soil out of direct sunlight but above 50° for 6 to 12 weeks before use.
