We are pleased to announce that the basic construction of the girls’ dorm is now complete. This has been made possible with cooperation of international donors. In addition to the construction, supplementary funds will also be available to pay for the girls’ food, future maintenance of the dorm, and the matron’s wages.
We find it hard to believe that over a year ago we met nine girls living in an army tent. This was their only lodging if they were going to overnight at the school. Now, the girls will have a solidly constructed dorm, where they can pursue their education without fear of wild animals coming through a thorn bush fence. Olivia and I have been touched by your commitment to helping support women’s education in Kenya. We believe that empowering girls to further their education will have a lasting and positive impact on their communities. Verity Williams, the manager of the Sabuk Lodge, has been an effective liaison for the Lobarishereki Initiative.
Olivia and I are continuing to fundraise. Check our page for updates on fundraisers and more!
