The Don Monti Memorial Research Foundation is proud to announce its newest commitment: supporting the Oncofertility Program at NYU Langone’s Perlmutter Cancer Center.
A cancer diagnosis changes everything, including hopes for the future. For children, adolescents, and young adults, the window to preserve that future can be narrow. Oncofertility navigation helps keep that window open, connecting patients with fertility-preserving options, equipping them with the information they need to make informed decisions, and surrounding them with the psychosocial support they need during one of life’s most overwhelming moments.
NYU Langone’s program is grounded in established approaches such as egg freezing, embryo banking, and s***m banking, which form the backbone of oncofertility care. Under the leadership of Emeline Aviki, MD, MBA, the program also goes further, offering cutting-edge procedures including ovarian cryopreservation and transplantation, uterine transposition, and testicular tissue banking that are available at only a handful of institutions nationwide. For patients who might otherwise have had no options at all, these advances change everything.
Funding from the Foundation will strengthen and expand the navigation and psychosocial services that make these options accessible, ensuring patients learn about them early enough to act and feel supported through every decision that follows.
With the Don Monti Memorial Research Foundation’s support, NYU Langone can reach more patients, earlier, helping to ensure that a cancer diagnosis today does not determine whether a family is possible tomorrow.
