Tonight we worked on interior search and rescue tactics! This is the second floor training area in station 2. It is designed to simulate the interior of a home.

October is fire prevention month! What a great way to kick it off by introducing our free smoke alarms program! If you meet the following qualifications, send us an email and we will arrange a time for installation!

We will once again be doing indoor trick or treating inside the firehouse! If you, your organization, or business would like to have a table to hand out goodies to the kids, please send us a message. Individuals are welcome as this is a good option for Individuals who have difficulty getting up and down to the door, live in the country, or dont have a porch light!

This week's training focused on rope work. Keeping fresh with different variations of knots is helpful for moving items and people quickly when needed.

CFPD would like to congratulate two of its members who went to a 4 hour RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) training. Rapid intervention is used to save other firefighters if they have an emergency inside of a fire. The techniques taught in the class can also be used to save the citizens we proudly serve as well.

Thank you both for your dedication to the department and the community we all serve.

Today, Colchester Fire Protection District remembers the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honors the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who ran toward danger to help others.

We remember the fallen.

It should cool down a little by tonight, make sure to come up to the firehouse for music, food, and fireworks! West Prairie class of 2030 will have concession stands with drinks and goodies as well as a 50/50 raffle! Music by Rock Steady starts at 9pm and Fireworks typically start around 945pm! Thank you Colchester Lions Club for providing the entertainment.
