That’s a wrap on Day ✌🏼!

Our three State FFA Degree recipients - Janell Heaton, Aiden Percy and Kenadie Webster - were recognized on stage. This is the highest award bestowed on a member from their state association. Countless hours have been spent recording, calculating, and managing their Supervised Agricultural Experience and today we recognized that hard work!

We planned to get our fix of harness racing, but Mother Nature had other plans so we visited the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum instead. A good day all in all and we’re ready to elections in the morning!

Day 1 at the 98th Illinois FFA State Convention was a good one!

We celebrated Brody Cordell as he was recognized on stage for the being the state winner in the Information & Technology SOE Award area.

Carlee & Will were recognized on stage on behalf of the chapter being recognized as a Silver Emblem Chapter. We received a silver rating in the Growing Leaders area and a gold rating on the Building Communities and Strengthening Agriculture areas.

Day 2 is off to a great start and we can’t wait to celebrate our State Degree recipients this afternoon.

And that’s a wrap on the Section 11 FFA year. We had three members recognized in the Top 10 Blue Award tonight. William Phelps was 9th Overall in the Chapter Division, Emmalyn Wilson was the High Discovery Individual Overall and Cashton Shipman was 6th Discovery Individual Overall. We were also awarded the Section 11 Gold Award for being the most active chapter in the section. Congratulations to our Top 10 members and all West Prairie FFA members thag contributed to our success!

It’s a great day to be a Cyclone! 🌪️
