Colchester Career Firefighters IAFF Local 5350

09/11/2026

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the Colchester Fire Department pauses to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, including the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, and other first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We also honor the survivors and all those who responded in the days, months, and years that followed, many of whom continue to carry the impacts of that day.

Twenty-five years later, their courage, sacrifice, and service will never be forgotten.

We Remember. We Honor. We Will Never Forget.

Local 5350 was honored to assist with today’s Special Olympics Torch Run alongside Colchester Rescue and the Colchester Police Department. Crews helped transport the torch by boat, delivering it to the United States Coast Guard as it continued its journey in support of Special Olympics athletes.

We are proud to support such an incredible cause and work alongside our public safety partners.
