Yesterday the Regiment took part in the June Day Parade with the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts . This was to celebrate the 388th annual Drum Head Election and swearing in of this year's new commanders.

The day consisted of a long parade, a pass and review ceremony with the Lt. Governor, and a military banquet in the evening.

Sgt. Blake, Cpl. Deller, Trp. Roatch, and Tpr. Hughes received compliments on their dress and deportment during the parade, specifically their tight wheeling through the streets of Boston

We always love to support other Centennial Legion units and are honored to be invited to such an important event. We can't wait for next year!

A couple weeks ago, the 2nd Dragoons took part in the Connecticut Rivers Council's Semiquincentennial Camporee at Camp Workcoeman.

We spent the day playing games, and teaching the Scouts about the American Revolution and the Culper Spy Ring.

Along with our normal offerings of colonial games and the weapons of a Dragoon, Sgt. Blake portrayed Maj. Tallmadge, head of the Culper Spy Ring.

"The best dragoons are veterans; the second best are Scouts."- Capt. Tarantino.

As the 2026 Campaign Season ramps up, we would like to take a moment to thank one of our most consistent donors: The Society of Cincinnati .

Founded by Washington and his officers in 1783, the Society is made up of descendants of the officers who fought the American War of Independence. Today it is the oldest patriotic organization in the country and seeks to promote the principles and ideals of the Founders.

In pursuit of these goals the Connecticut Cincinnati has, yet again, given us a generous gift to support our endeavors. We would like to thank them for their continued support of us, and all that they are doing for the 250th.

QUIET ON SET!

Today we took part in the filming of a commercial for Connecticut 250!

Sgt. Blake had a dual role as one of Sheldon's dragoons, as well as advising on the use of horse on set. He was also interviewed by discussing reenacting and the value of the 250th.

Look for both the ad and the interview on TV, and online sometime in June!

Today the Regiment took part in the 251st anniversary of Powder House Day, with the 2nd Company Governor's Foot Guard.

This commemorates the anniversary of when the 2nd Foot demanded the keys to the New Haven Powder House in order to arm the men for Bunker Hill.

Sgt. Blake, Cpl. Deller, and 1st Tpr. Brimmer took part in a short parade and ceremony to honor this historic event.

Yesterday, the 2nd Dragoons hosted our annual Spring Training Drill. We invited our friends from the 5th CT and had a great time going through the manual of arms, and practicing marching and wheeling.

We want to thank Will Heese for leading this drill as his first event as a member of Sheldon's Horse.

We also want to welcome Joseph Hughes to the hobby. Tpr. Hughes performed admirably and will be a fine addition to the regiment.

Finally, thank you to the Durham Historical Society for their continued support in hosting our drill days.

Today the Regiment took part in the Danbury St. Patrick's Day Parade.

We were joined by members of the and the 38th Regiment of Foot. We had a great time marching, firing, and showing the people of Danbury, a bit of what we do on a regular basis. We even got to meet the Mayor!

We want to thank the Parade Committee for allowing us to take part in such a fun event.
