Save the Center! The Colby Senior Progress Center provides Seniors with 3 things to help them thrive: Fun, Food and Fellowship. Every day there is Fun with others: games, pool, cards and puzzles. The Center is a great place for dances, potlucks and parties.
Monday through Friday the Center offers Food for dining in and carrying out and Meals on Wheels provides meals for those who can't get out nor cook. Donuts are on the table Friday Morning as the Liars Club gathers for Fellowship and to reminisce, swap stories and tell tales (short and tall).
Sadly, none of this generates enough money to pay for utilities, insurance or supplies. While the Center receives funding from Thomas County, their recent budget cuts reduced funding by 50%. Bake sales, garage sales, potato bars, etc. all help, but this doesn't provide enough to fund the Center.
Our community steps up year-round for our children, could we remember our Seniors as well? Monetary donations are especially needed at this time.
