We were thrilled to join our new neighbors at today to celebrate the grand opening of their new Cohoes location that is a (very) short walk from the Building on Love office!

Several Building on Love board members and supporters joined local dignitaries and community members for the ribbon cutting, where we were honored to receive a generous donation in support of our mission.

We are grateful to Stewart’s for investing in our community and supporting families caring for a child facing a life-threatening illness. Welcome to the neighborhood! ❤️

What an incredible day at the 1863 Club! ❤️

On behalf of Building on Love and the families we serve, thank you to everyone who joined us for our 5th Annual A Day at the 1863 Club: A Tribute to Transforming Lives, benefiting Building on Love and Living Resources New York.

A very special thank-you to our dear friend Natalie A. Sillery, the heart and creative force behind this event, and her wonderful Saratoga Trunk Trunkettes for once again filling the 1863 Club with fashion, energy, generosity and plenty of fun. Natalie’s passion for our missions—and the love she brings to this event each year—make this special collaboration possible.

Our BOL Kid of the Day, Kylie, is courageously battling a cancerous brain tumor. She and her family arrived with especially heavy hearts after having to say goodbye to their cherished dog that morning—but the day provided some much-needed smiles and good medicine.

One of its most touching moments came when Kylie met Stormy, one of the outrider ponies, and his incredibly kind outrider, Juan. Stormy gently nuzzled up to Kylie as she spent several quiet minutes petting him, creating a sweet connection that brought a smile to her face—and, judging by Stormy’s reaction, may have been a highlight of his day, too.

Despite the tremendous storm that swept through Saratoga, the skies eventually cleared, allowing Kylie and her family to visit the Winner’s Circle for the race named in her honor: Building on Love’s Run for Kylie.

The families we serve face storms far greater than the one we experienced that afternoon. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, they do not have to weather those storms alone.

A little behind-the-scenes look at the preparations for yesterday’s 5th Annual A Day at the 1863 Club – A Tribute to Transforming Lives presented by Natalie Sillery and Saratoga Trunk!

There is a lot that goes into getting ready to welcome more than 400 guests for a day at Saratoga Race Course, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped bring it all together.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who joined us! We hope you enjoyed the fashion, the fun, the racing, and a wonderful day celebrating the missions of Building on Love and Living Resources New York.

A very special thank you to Kylie and her family for spending the day with us and allowing us to share a little of their family’s story. Having them there was a wonderful reminder of exactly why we do what we do.

We deeply appreciate our early morning volunteers - Elizabeth, Betty, Kaylee, Allison, Ashley, Geoff, Patti, Patrick and Sarah as well for helping us get ready for our big day.

Something WICKED this way comes to our 5th Annual A Day at the 1863 Club: A Tribute to Transforming Lives! 💚

We are thrilled to announce a truly extraordinary addition to our Live Auction this Sunday: a verified first-edition copy of Wicked, personally signed by author Gregory Maguire!

And as you can see, this is far more than a signature. Gregory Maguire added a one-of-a-kind, hand-drawn and colored sketch of Elphaba, along with the perfectly fitting inscription:

“With best witches…”

This incredible piece was generously donated by a friend of Living Resources, and we are so grateful for their generosity and support of this special event.

For fans of the beloved novel, the Broadway phenomenon, or the world of Wicked, this is an incredibly special collector’s piece—and one you won't find just anywhere.

One lucky bidder will take it home from the 1863 Club while helping us raise critical funds to support the important work of Building on Love and Living Resources New York right here in our community.

For the seventh consecutive year, our wonderful friends at NKBA NY Tri State Chapter are hosting a fundraiser to benefit Building on Love—and this year they're taking the fun to the bowling lanes at Spare Time Clifton Park and City Sports Grille

Gather your friends, family, or coworkers for an evening of bowling, food, prizes, and friendly competition, all while helping local families caring for a child facing a recent critical illness.

Every dollar raised supports the Building on Love Family Grant Program, providing emergency financial assistance for essential living expenses such as rent, mortgage payments, utilities, and transportation so parents can focus on what matters most—their child's care.

We are incredibly grateful to the NKBA NY Tri-State Chapter for seven years of partnership and generosity. Their continued support has made a meaningful difference in the lives of so many local families.
