Dante's Peak (1997) - Many of the volcano crater scenes were filmed at the real Mount St. Helens in Washington (the site of the famous 1980 eruption that inspired much of the movie), while the fictional town was shot in Wallace, Idaho, with the mountain itself digitally composited in.
