We are very excited to introduce our 2027 race director for the Coeur d’ Fondo, Diego Olivieri! Which does mean the Fondo will not happen in 2026. The lack of time to make it happen will give our race director more time to make 2027 an amazing year.
Diego Olivieri is an endurance coach, athlete, and dedicated member of the North Idaho community with a passion for promoting health, connection, and outdoor recreation. A former swimmer and water polo player, Diego was drawn to endurance sports in pursuit of a new challenge—an experience that continues to shape his approach to coaching and event leadership today.
As the founder of Delta 3 Coaching and former owner of the CDA Triathlon Team, Diego has spent over 30 years helping athletes of all abilities build confidence and pursue personal goals. His experience also includes organizing youth running events and serving as the Lead Swim Coach for the Air Force Wounded Warrior Program, where he supports adaptive athletes in their recovery and performance journeys.
For Diego, the CDA Fondo represents more than just a ride—it’s an opportunity for cyclists of all ages and ability levels to come together, experience the beauty of North Idaho, and give back to the community. As Race Director, he is committed to delivering a well-organized, welcoming, and memorable event that offers something for everyone—from first-time riders to those seeking a true personal challenge—while supporting the mission of the North Idaho Centennial Trail. Stay tuned for updates !!
