“The swings pose a suffocation risk because they were marketed, intended, or designed for infant sleep, and they have an incline angle greater than 10 degrees in violation of the federal safety regulations for Infant Sleep Products and the Safe Sleep for Babies Act. The swings also violate other requirements for infant swings and the labeling requirements for Reese’s Law because the remote contains a button or coin-cell battery.”

RECALL ALERT: Dorel Juvenile Group (Dorel) is recalling certain Safety 1st and Maxi-Cosi child seats. A detached child seat may not properly restrain the occupant, increasing the risk of injury in a crash. Consumers should refer to Dorel's recall report for specific model numbers and makes. Gather your expired, crashed, or unwanted car seats and boosters. It's almost time for Target's Car Seat Trade-In event!

Here's what we know so far:
▪ The event runs from September 11-24, 2022.
▪ "Trade in" your seats by dropping them in the designated box at your local Target store. They'll be recycled through Target's partnership with Waste Management.
▪ Scan the QR code on the trade-in bin using the Target app to receive a 20% off coupon valid on a car seat, stroller, or select baby gear. The coupon is redeemable twice and can be redeemed through October 8, 2022.

We had a busy day in Orofino yesterday! Headed to Grangeville today.

Whew! In 3.5 hours, Liz (CPST) and Brian (CPST-I) checked 18 car seats, distributed 18 new car seats and took in 12 unsafe seats at the Orofino City Park. A HUGE thank you to Orofino Fire Department and volunteer Angela for advertising and helping out! Buckle Up for Life
