📣 Calling all Social Work students and professionals!

The West Coast Child Welfare Trainers Conference is coming to Reno, Nevada, September 14–16, 2026, and this year there is a special opportunity for current Social Work students to attend at a significantly reduced rate.

🎓 Student Conference Registration: $175 for all three days
With room registration, eligible students can receive half-price conference registration and spend three days learning from professionals working across child welfare, training, coaching, workforce development, and caregiver professional development.

The conference is hosted by UC Davis, and members of the Family Resource & Training Center team will also be among the presenters, including Dr. Melissa Bernier, LCSW, PhD.

This year's theme, “Biggest Little Impacts: Training Matters When the Stakes Are High,” brings together child welfare trainers and professionals from across the region to learn, connect, and share ideas that can strengthen practice.

✨ If you're a Social Work student interested in child welfare or looking for a chance to connect classroom learning with the field, this is a pretty remarkable opportunity.

Happy Father’s Day 💙

Today, we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, foster dads, adoptive dads, kinship caregivers, mentors, and father figures who provide guidance, support, and encouragement to the children in their lives.

A caring adult can make a lasting difference. Through everyday moments, words of wisdom, shared experiences, and unwavering support, father figures help children build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

Thank you to all who step into this important role and help create brighter futures for children and families.
