2026 Cody Family & Friends Reunion: REGISTER NOW! (Deadline is May 15th).
Come to our 2026 ICFA Reunion in New England for our 3-day event!
Meet and greet your Cuzzins, visit the places where the founders of our Cody family, Philip and Martha lived, worshipped and worked, learn about the political and social forces that shaped their lives and vote for your ICFA Officers at our General Business Meeting!
On Chebacco Day, we'll visit the town of Essex where our Philip harvested his salt marsh hay and his son Joseph 3, met his future wife, Mary. We'll also tour the Old Burying Ground to see the stone wall built by Joseph's in-laws and where he lived before moving to Hopkinton. We'll see the Congregational Church that is the descendant of the Chebacco 2nd Parish Meeting house founded by our Joseph's in-laws, and stop by Cogswell's Grant, the home of the people who donated the land for the Meetinghouse. If the Branch Number of your Cody ID is below 207, then our Joseph 3 is your 5th or 6th great-grandfather!
On Beverly Day, we'll visit the site of our Philip and Martha's Beverly Homestead, meet their neighbors in the Dodge's Row Burying Ground, see the 2nd Congregational Church that provided the clue that first led our early researchers to find our Philip and Martha's membership in Beverly's 1st Parish Church, see the Balch House once owned by Philip and Martha's friends and neighbors, the Hale Farm, where the Rev. John Hale lived and the 1st Parish Church where Rev. John Hale welcomed our Philip and Martha to the congregation. As a bonus, we'll see the book where Rev. Hale recorded their religious confirmation in the church book.
Then we'll drive across the river to Salem and tour the Salem Witch Museum, see the site where our Philip and Martha's employer, Philip English, lived, visit the site of Mary English's Blue Anchor Tavern where our Martha worked as a barmaid and the site of the wharf where our Philip embarked on his voyages as a mariner. We'll finish by having a drink at the Hawthorne Hotel, where our Cody Family Association held their 1941 Reunion. We can discuss our Philip and Martha's possible reactions to Philip and Mary English's experience during the Witchcraft Hysteria.
On Family Day, we'll gather for a brief Worship Service, convene our 2026 General Business Meeting to hear the reports of the current Officers, and to vote for our Slate of Candidates for Office who will serve until our next reunion in 2028!
Then we'll wind it up with a Family Picnic, and for the young-at-heart, a schooner Cruise out of Gloucester!
