ANOTHER SMALL ONE

This is a saw-whet owl, about the smallest owl found in this country. It was found in a garage in Powell unwilling to fly. Thanks to the Metzler's for bringing him to me today. I have no idea what's wrong but he is very weak, won't open his eyes but he can open and close his feet.

Hanna helped get him settled and she said he did clack at her when she moved him. His feather condition is very good, as is his weight. I am afraid of poisoning but the finders said they don't use it and their neighbors are some distance away.

Naturally there's a holiday tomorrow so don't know if I can get him in to be examined by my vet. He's about as tall as a can of soup. His name is PARKER.

BAD DAY

Started out wheth my phone not working. So I had to drive to my doctors office to ask about some meds I had to refill. I got that taken care of and started to drive home. Unfortunately the sun was horribly bright in my face so when i came to one stop sign I didn't see it. Naturally there was a vehicle there when most of the time there isn't one. I hit the guy and my poor little little red Ranger is now damaged. She's missing her front bumper and right headlight.

She's driving okay but trying to replace the damage is very costly. She's 17 years old now and hard to find parts. Finishing Touch is going to see what they can do. I hate the thought of haiing to lose her, she's the best, the perfect size and manual drive.

I was able to see RUBY and her puppies yesterday. Amazing and cuter than the dickens. And they all have forever homes already.

ANOTHER QUICK RELEASE

This time it's TREY, an adult male kestrel found just west of town with an old, healed, right wrist joint. Surgery couldn't be done but he proved he didn't need any work done to that joint.

He's been in a flight area and today was his return to the area he came from. As he's an adult, and they mate for life, he had to go back there.

He didn't want to come out of the crate but when he decided he was ready, he took off like a little rocket. That's the reason it's out of focus, he out flew the camera. Then he flew off to the top of one of the nearby trees.

LITTLE TUMBLER IS NOW FREE

He came to me many weeks ago after falling from his 80' high nest.over in Powell. I was unable to return him to it.

He's been learning how to eat rats and mice. I buy live mice from Sean Cooper so he can learn how to hunt them;. It took him a while to do that but once figured it out he caught them all.

Hanna and I took him back to his nest area and released him yesterday. He flew off just great. Not the best landing but it worked.

INJURED MAGPIE

This is actually the second one who came here in the last two days. This time it has a broken leg and is now at the vets to see if they are able to splint it so it will heal.

ONE MORE TIME

Yes, another GHO. This one came from Homesteader Park in Powell. Thanks to Officer Justin C**k of the Powell police department for rounding him up and calling me.

As you can see from the photo, he is another one with an eye problem. I believe he can see but Justin said he wasn't able to fly, just run along the ground. He'll go in for xrays.

AMAZING LADY

Today a problem I've had has been fixed thanks to a wonderful lady, Holly Sanford. She has a business called Grizzly Ridge Co. in Wapiti. She's a "handywoman" and she brought her big w**d eater here. I now don't have waist high w**ds all around my house. Not only did she remove the w**ds she even raked up the stems and removed them.
