NEW HOMES

Yesterday the Burkharts came by and picked out three of my female cavys to join the ones they already have and to replace one they recently lost.

BIG AND LITTLE

So far this year I've received a lot of birds but they've all been on the small size, or are pigeons and doves. Today there was a variety. I got in a wild turkey hen and a western meadowlark. The turkey has a very bad wound to her right chest. It's possible she's been caught by a predator. She was also found near the rodeo grounds here in Cody. The lark seems to have a right wing that's a bit weak. It was found on a road to maybe it has been hit by a car.

MORE FIXES

And another big thankyou to Cedar and Adam. A small hole appeared in the roof of the owl barn so they came out and fixed it. A bit more needs to be done but it's safe to put the birds back in there.

UP HIGH

He's graduated one more step. UNO is now in with my two foster adults and is able to fly all over. I will be getting in some live mice for him to learn how to catch them so he'll be releasable. He's quite he character.

FREEDOM FOR ALL

This year I've gotten in so many pigeons and doves. They've been in one of my free flight areas and with this weather being much nice I decided to release them today. This isn't all of them, a couple more to go.

MORE RARE ONES

This time it's Blue Jay and a nest of four pine Siskins. They all came from the same place up in Billings. Thank goodness the finder drove them down here yesterday early evening.

They were all found on the ground, the siskins in their nest, the jay just on the ground. Had I known how old the jay was I'd have told her to just leave it there. The siskins are only about a week old so need the feedings I'm now giving them.

I've never had a blue jay, they are still pretty rare in this area. I don't get siskins very often either.

To the lady who messaged me about the baby bird she found, please send me another messsage. For some reason yours disappeared so I can't answer your questions. I was able to see that unfortunately the baby died but I thank you for caring enough to try and save it.

TWO MORE OWLS

Well, actually, the first photo is of UNO. He's now flying up to the high beam, hisses and clacks at me when I go in to feed him. He's eating his rat and mice.

Second photo is a new bird who came in to me yesterday. It's a short-eared owl from Belfry, MT. He was found in town and unfortunately has a fractured left wing. Naturally it's the weekend so I can't get him to the vet for xrays until Monday. His name is BILL.

HAIRY BIRD?

He was found on the ground in Clark, the finder couldn't find the mom or any other kittens.. I will call the shelter tomorrow to see if they have any nursing moms. If not I guess he'll stay here

MORE BABIES

This time it's a couple of robins. They fell out of the nest but it was so high they couldn't be put back.
