The horse sale gets western when it is held on Mainstreet Cody, Wyoming in front of the Historic Irma Hotel. Ralston offers these events:
1pm FRIDAY. Or Online!

The auction is Saturday the 10th of May and the preview is Friday the 9th Webcasting includes Click to Bid or Phone Bids and are accepted if arrangements are made prior to Thursday. Please call Superior Livestock 800.431.4452 to make arrangements for remote bidding. Annual horse sale held Saturday on Mother's Day weekend. Auction horses are shown in a Ranch Horse Competition preview, showing off their horses reining ability; working a cow along the fence, roping the cow followed by opening and closing a gate and putting on a slicker. Following this, any horses may show their abilities in various events; team roping, barrel racing, pole bending, etc. Saturday morning at 8am Meet and Greet at the horse stalls, watch the horses being ridden for the first time that day. Cody, Wyoming offers the
AUCTION which begins promptly at high noon on Cody, Wyoming’s main street in front of the Irma Hotel. See you there!! Saturday, before Mother's Day.

Did you know every horse at the Cody Horse Sale is required to pass a visual veterinary inspection before entering the sale ring?

We believe buyers deserve to know as much as possible about the horses they're considering purchasing. That's why every consignment is reviewed by a veterinarian and the Clark Management team before being allowed to sell.

Our required inspection includes checking for blemishes, examining teeth for age and signs of cribbing, evaluating the eyes and breathing, and checking that the horse travels soundly on all four feet.

We encourage buyers to take their time, visit with consignors, ride the horses they're interested in, and ask plenty of questions. Buyers who would like a more extensive prepurchase veterinary examination are welcome to arrange one at their own expense prior to the auction.

Looking for your perfect partner at the 2027 Cody Horse Sale? Here's some tips!

Tell the consignor about yourself. Be honest about your riding experience, how often you ride, and your goals for your next partner. Whether you want to cover country, work cattle, or build confidence, those details help them determine whether their horse is a good match.

Remember to write down your questions. A few worth asking might be:

• How does the horse ride after time off?
• How do they handle riding out alone or in a group?
• How do they handle hauling and unfamiliar places?
• What type of rider suits them best?

Ask questions, take your time, and keep your everyday needs in mind. A good match starts with a straight conversation!

The 2027 Cody Horse Sale lineup is coming together, and we will be announcing horses consigned before we know it. Between now and then, our consignors are putting in miles and continuing the everyday work that gives each horse a story to tell.

Have you sent in your consignment yet for the Cody Horse Sale?

Consignments are officially open and filling up fast for the 2027 sale! If you have a horse you’d like to consign, call or text TJ at 307-272-4563 for approval. Once approved, you’ll receive an invoice and consignment link by email.

Each consignment requires at least four professional photos, one YouTube video, consignor information and a sale bio.

We’re looking forward to another great lineup of horses at the Cody Horse Sale!

Rain or shine, the Cody Horse Sale is always a good time! From the preview to sale day, there’s plenty to look forward to. Come watch the horses Mother’s Day weekend 2027, visit with old friends, and maybe head home with your next favorite riding partner. We’d love to see you there.

We’ve had a couple questions about why consignments open so early for the Cody Horse Sale! The answer is pretty simple: we like to plan ahead.

We don’t want people scrambling at the last minute to schedule photos, and put a video together. Starting early gives consignors time to prepare and gives us more time to advertise their horses and put them in front of potential buyers.

Planning to consign to the Cody Horse Sale?

Consignments open October 1st. Before then, make sure you have professional photos ready, including saddled and unsaddled photos. Videos are also required when you submit your horse to T.J for consideration so now is a good time to start getting everything together!
