ANNOUNCING THE LOCATION OF OUR 2026 CODY FAMILY & FRIENDS REUNION! > All are welcome to join us!
We selected the top two location candidates for our 2026 Reunion in our December Review, and we canvassed our membership by providing a voting platform where everyone could choose between Beverly, MA and Cody, WY. Your overall favorite choice for our reunion destination has been heard, and we are now in the preliminary stages of planning our rendezvous in New England!
It’s been 27 years since we’ve held our 1998 Reunion in New England to commemorate the 300th anniversary of Philip and Martha as landowners. Now we invite you back to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our American Revolution in the place where it all started, New England!
The Massachusetts Bay Colony's 1689 Andros Rebellion, inspired a local clergyman to coin the phrase "taxation without representation," which provided inspiration for our American Revolution, almost 100 years later.
The same clergyman also laid the philosophical groundwork for the Declaration of Independence in a sermon, saying; “The first human subject and original of civil power is the people…and when they are free, they may set up what species of government they please. The end of all good government is to cultivate humanity and promote the happiness of all, and the good of every man in all his rights, his life, liberty, estate, honor, etc., without injury or abuse done to any.”– Rev. John Wise, Chebacco Parish of Ipswich (Essex), circa 1700
Chebacco is where our Joseph 3 lived after he married Mary Martin. We'll visit Cogswell's Grant, along with the Essex Shipbuilding Museum, Woodman's Restaurant and the sites of Joseph 3's home, the Chebacco Meetinghouse and Philip's Salt Marsh Ground on that leg of our tour. The descendants of Joseph 3 and Mary are the ancestors of half of our Cody Family!
If you had your heart set on Cody, don’t worry, we’ll hold a reunion there again very soon, if not in 2028. Beverly on the other hand, may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, as a return visit to these historic landmarks may not happen until the distant future.
Please save the date and join us for this special, potential bucket-list opportunity to visit the place of pilgrimage where the Cody family pioneered and forged our unique path and legendary bloodline in a place that we are all proud to call our hometown.
We're tentatively planning to host this reunion in the middle of June 2026, and we will notify you of our confirmed dates as soon as we have them.
Kevin Cody,
ICFA President
