Friends of a Legacy A Wild Horse Advocacy Group | Keeping the McCullough Peak's Mustangs Wild & Free 'Friends of a Legacy' (F.O.A.L.)

was founded in April 2005 by four dedicated Cody, Wyoming residents, committed to preserving and protecting the wild horse herd living in the McCullough Peaks, located 12 to 27 miles east of Cody, and encompassing 109,814 acres of land. The nine current board members count among their accomplishments, the purchase of 160 acres adjacent to the wild horse range, two watering systems, a lead position

in fertility control and tracking (PZP), an interpretive trail with signs, educational events, and public presentations. To learn more, please visit F.O.A.L.'s website at:

Our amazing community has donated well over $10,000 worth of amazing auction items from restaurants, activities, local art and photography, jewelry and so much more! Thank you to all who supported Friends of a Legacy during the 2025 WyoGives fundraiser! With your support, we raised $6,965 and were able to unlock an additional $2,392 boost from the Hughes Charitable Trust foundation for a total of $9,357. We are so grateful for generosity of our supporters!

WyoGives is coming on July 16!

What’s WyoGives? It’s a 24-hour day of giving across Wyoming where your donations go further to support Wyoming nonprofits like Friends of a Legacy. When you donate to FOAL on July 16th through the WyoGives.org platform, your gift will be boosted by the Hughes Charitable Foundation's $1,000,000 Incentive pool.

Donate online between the hours of 12:00am - 11:59pm on Wednesday, July 16th, 2025.

Every donor contributing $100 or more will be entered into a drawing for 2 FREE tickets to the 2025 Mustang Rendezvous ($120 value)
