Job Title: Sober Living House Manager

Our Mission statement:
Ezekiel 37 Ministries exists to help break the cycle of addiction within individuals and their families. Ezekiel 37 Ministries uses faith-based and secular approaches to help restore the bonds within these family units and individuals. We work alongside other agencies to assist those individuals who are walking out of their sobriety. This is our mission field; we long to see families restored and people set free.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the House Manager for Ezekiel 37 Ministries is a live-in position that provides oversight for the property and clients of their location. The ideal candidate is an individual our residents can relate to. Someone who has the ability and compassion to understand the day-to-day pressures and challenges they are facing. This person is someone who can gain the resident’s respect, enforce house rules, and provide a structure that someone with substance abuse issues needs to overcome their dependency and move forward.
House managers should possess the attributes outlined in 1 Timothy 3; these attributes laid out by scripture include: above reproach, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money, and not a recent convert. 1 Timothy 3:2-6 (Holy Bible, New International Version, 1973/2018)
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Manage inside and out of the property, coordinating repairs and maintenance with the board maintenance committee
•Enforce the rules of the ministry as outlined by the Board and Executive Director
•Create an environment guiding residents to go through the phases created by the ministry to facilitate the outcome of independent living
•Administer breathalyzer, UA tests, and medication counts.
•Host house meetings, offer bible studies, and conduct in-house AA/NA meetings as needed
•Provide or coordinate transportation for residents as needed
•Act as an advocate for residents as needed, providing peer support and counsel, alerting the Executive Director and Case Manager immediately when concerns arise. Maintain time and effort logs based on observation
•Provide timely updates to the Executive Director on overall house operations and the well-being of residents
•Light housekeeping as needed
•Always maintain resident confidentiality
•Promote and coordinate activities that foster personal development and healthy living.
•Collect rent
•Daily check-ins with residents
•Organize community service activities for residents
Requirements and Qualifications:
Associate degree preferred
Theologically sound doctrine and willing to sign the ministry’s Doctrine of Faith
2 or more years of sustained recovery or a working knowledge/experience with addiction and those in recovery
Established in a local Church
Experience with peer-to-peer support
Possess the ability to approach conflict resolution with firmness and compassion, recognizing the unique pressures faced by individuals in recovery, understanding we are a grace-based ministry.
Commitment to supporting our mission statement
Compensation:
Room and all utilities provided
Small stipend
Reimbursement for gas when a personal car is used for appointments and resident transportation
