Following is an article and photo we submitted to the Powell Tribune regarding our recent fundraising for First Stop through the garage sale and special offering. Hopefully it gets printed in the paper.

Hope Lutheran Church of Powell would like to thank our local community for their purchases and support at our church-wide garage sale fundraiser held in June. All proceeds of the garage sale along with our congregation’s special offering in June, were donated to First Stop Help Center of Park County. First Stop is a program within the non-profit organization “The Foundation for Heart Mountain Free Clinic” that offers resources, case management, direct financial assistance and community training to community members who are low income or facing crisis. They offer community training around su***de prevention, budgeting, domestic violence and human trafficking prevention, poverty and bridging the gap. Pictured are Pastor Jayson Nicholson of Hope Lutheran Church presenting a check in the amount of $2,219.62 to Anthony Lujan of First Stop.

We are extremely thankful to be chosen by the Cody Festival of Trees as a non-profit making an impact in our community.

Please consider joining us for one of the Cody Festival of Trees events scheduled November 27 - December 5 at Cody Regional Hospital. All event earnings will be split between First Stop Help Center and Wyoming Dream Hunts.

The two nonprofits that will split the money we earn from event ticket sales this year are Wyoming dream hunts and First Stop Help Center. These two organizations do amazing work which we got to learn about this evening. Can’t wait to bring awareness to their organizations as well as raised money for them! Thank you Tev, Josh, and Anthony for educating us this evening and for all you do for our community and beyond!
