🌲 Adventure doesn't have to be far from home.

Check out how one Indiana troop turned a local state park into the backdrop for a weekend full of hiking, discovery, and Scout spirit.

Scouts don't need plane tickets to build memories - they just need a plan and a little creativity.

🗺 What's your favorite local adventure?

🎓🦅 Scout Spotlight: Celebrating Eagle Scout Andrew 🦅🎓

We’re proud to shine this month’s Scout Spotlight on Andrew, who recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout and graduated from high school — two major accomplishments that reflect years of hard work, leadership, and dedication. 👏

For his Eagle project, Andrew crafted and installed custom cat shelves for the Park County Animal Shelter, providing comfort and enrichment for adoptable cats in need of a cozy place to perch. 🐾 His creativity and compassion truly made a lasting impact on our community.

When asked what becoming an Eagle means to him, Andrew shared:

“It means being able to stick with something even when times get tough.”

Scouting has taught him valuable life lessons — the kind school doesn't always cover — and has helped him develop leadership skills he’ll carry into the future. One of his favorite memories?

“Shotgun shooting at K-M Scout Ranch. I got to shoot shotguns and was awarded for doing well!” 🎯

Andrew's biggest role model throughout his journey has been his father, who was also an Eagle Scout:

“He pushed me to my max, even when I felt like I couldn't go anymore.”

For younger Scouts, Andrew offers this advice:

“Scouting is supposed to be fun — but you’ve got to do a little bit of work too.”

As for his future? Andrew is still exploring what’s next but hopes to stay connected to Scouting as time allows.

He leaves us with a powerful quote he lives by:

“Never back up. Never back down.”

Congratulations, Andrew! We’re proud of your accomplishments and can’t wait to see where your journey leads next. 🦅✨

Did you know Memorial Day began as a way to honor fallen soldiers after the Civil War?

As Scouts, we remember and learn from the past to shape a better future.

Today we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom.

Service is at the heart of Scouting, and today we reflect on the ultimate service - sacrifice for our country.
