I know I haven't posted on here in a while because iv been busy but I'd like every one to know the youth group is still an active non profit 501 c 3 I considered dissolving it but after a lot of prayer and thinking iv decided to keep it going. Iv been busy trying to get the Salts Riverside snack shack LLC once I get things more organized I'm going to get back to work selecting some new board members and organizing some events. I think the youth really needs this and I worked hard getting this started so I want to keep this going but I'm going to need help from some experienced people who know or have been involved in a nonprofit. In the coming months I will make another announcement regarding the youth group but I don't want to rush it so be on the lookout for my post. Thanks, Salt ( Sean Thurman )

I want to apologize to the young men that signed up at the first event, that never got to participate. I still remember each of you and I still have your parents contact info so be expecting a call from me in the near future. I want everyone to know the mission is still alive and ready to start rolling. This has been a learning experience and requires more education than I thought. I had an issue with our bylaws, so after stepping back and researching for many late nights, I felt confident enough to continue. Yesterday I decided to apply for our business EIN, after successfully filling out the application, I received the EIN. Now that we have the articles of incorporation and the EIN, the next step is to apply for tax exemption with a form 1023 with the IRS, to be fully registered on a national level under the 501 c 3 status. In the meantime we will be picking up where we left off. I'm planning a big event/fishing tournament, similar to what we did before, just bigger. The event is 3 months out, So we can gather as many donations of fishing equipment as possible to ensure every young person that attends leaves with a pole or tackle box. Big fishing event/tournament every thing included, everything free. This Sunday the 28th at Nicole park next to psj boat ramp. Youth outreach and give back event.

This is Noah and Jarrod, both of them are in the program. They are over 18 and they play more of a leadership role towards the younger ones. This was at haulover canal and this was about our 4th fishing trip as a group. The guy in back is Reggie Harris,he and a friend of his, volunteered to take us on their center consul boats. Mr.reggie, as I like to call him, is also an admin in the program.just wanted to kinda introduce everyone with our over doing it. Like and follow because we have a lot of big announcements coming.

Here's a little more info on exactly what I'm doing with this program. First we are holding the event to have a central location where the ones that are interested in joining the group can sign up and the parents can sign the liability release form for the ones that are under 18. We welcome all ages of young men (youth,teens, and 18-24). It's free to sign up and everything will be provided(equipment, food, pick up and drop off,ECT). I also had a teacher friend build a curriculum with 4 base subjects ( farming, finances, business and credit). Once we secure a location we will start teaching the curriculum in a classroom type setting. Not only will they learn about fishing and conservation but they will also learn everything they need to know about transitioning to adulthood. This is a year round program, to try and have an outlet and something for the youth to do other than get into trouble. We plan to work with some local businesses that will allow the group to do some community services at their business and maybe teach them something about that trade of business. So far we have busses secured for Sunday afternoons to pick up members that don't have a ride,we have a staff of 6 people and about 5 volunteers that come when they can. Sorry if the the flyer was not clear but the event is for everyone and it's free, the boys and young men that want to sign up for the youth program,can do it at the event. We are still building a foundation and getting things organized with the boys but soon we will have a staff of women leaders to handle everything with the girls.
