Launa A diverse group of people who love the beach and ocean sports that gather monthly to develop deep friendships and supportive community. We all want friends.

But what is true friendship, and why is it often hard to find? Launa is a group of people who gather once a month on the beach to discuss what it means to be a good friend. We share stories and draw from ancient wisdom traditions to learn about the virtues necessary to have good friends and be a good friend. After a time of conversation, we hang out together doing the things we love, like surfing,

bodyboarding, skimboarding, kitesurfing, sunbathing, creating and listening to music, yoga, art, and playing games on the beach. During this hangout time, we try to practice what we are learning in our discussions to create deep friendships and a supportive community. We occasionally host or participate in service projects to help others at home and abroad. Launa is a Hawaiian word that means friendly or sociable. Used as a verb, it means to gather or meet and has connotations of fellowship.
