For those thinking of donating to CARE during the annual Crawford Gives campaign, there are a number of ways to donate.

Your donation this year will help fund our Music In The Park concert stage and the replacement of pavilion roofs 3 and 4.

It also helps fund the other initiatives and events we undertake throughout the year.

Please Consider Donating To CARE!

You may have seen these signs around the area every summer. But what is Crawford Gives?

Crawford Gives is the Crawford Heritage Community Foundation’s annual three day giving event. From Wednesday, August 19 through midnight on Friday, August 21, generous individuals and businesses come together to support the nonprofit organizations that strengthen our community.

Every gift made during Crawford Gives helps local nonprofits continue their important work across Crawford County.

Thanks to a prorated match pool, a portion of matching funds will be added to each eligible donation made during the event. Whether you give online, by check, or through other approved methods, your support goes even further.

Mark your calendar and plan to be part of these meaningful days of giving as we work together to make Crawford County a better place to live, learn, work, and raise a family.

A special thank you to all our 2026 CARE Partners who help support everything we do in the Borough.

Coming up on August 19-21 will be the annual Crawford Gives three day giving event where people can support local nonprofits across Crawford County. And once again thanks to a prorated match pool, a portion of matching funds will be added to each individual donation made during the event.

We will be posting more information on this shortly.

We will again be in the train station at the Fairgrounds next week on Wednesday through Saturday. Stop in... say hi... see more about what we do... and let us know what you think we could do in the future to make Cochranton an even better place to call home.

CARE is being asked about the plans for a new stage in Lions Park that will be used for Music In The Park concerts, Church In The Park, and other community events.

The question arose: “why we don’t have the concerts at the Fairground stage?”

First a little background. When the Lions Club realized they could no longer maintain the park, they offered it to the Borough. The Borough was reluctant to take it on, but CARE offered to partner with the Borough to maintain and improve this valuable community asset.

Since then, the partnership has provided the park with all new ADA playground equipment, new walkways, brand new ADA restrooms, and a new community room. We maintain the walking trail and are currently extending the trail to cross N Franklin Street to connect to the existing trails on the west side of the street.

The park is definitely looking good.

When people come to Music In The Park events, they see 100-200 people enjoying our beautiful park. People spread out listening to the bands, kids are playing basketball on the newly renovated court, people are playing volleyball, children are on the playground, there is a dog training class in pavilion 4, people are using the ADA restrooms and parking along the road to listen to the music from their vehicles.

While the fairground has a stage, it does not have ADA restrooms, a playground, a basketball court, a lawn to spread out on, easy access parking, or places for people to listen from their car. CARE wants to keep the vision of improving Lions Park to be a multipurpose jewel in the community.

CARE is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization. All of our projects are funded by business partners, grants, match funding, and generous donations from residents. There is no tax payer money ever involved. CARE is truly grateful for the support.

Thank you for reading this post as we wanted to explain why a stage in the park is a logical step for our continuous improvement efforts in Lions Park.

Thanks to all who came out to Lions Park last night for Just We Two!

The sun came out… the weather was perfect… the band was great… food was delicious… and it is always so good to see so many people using the park. Whether it’s sitting and listening to the music, kids on the playground or playing basketball, people using the walking trail, or dog training in pavilion 4, the community comes out. It’s great to see.

If you missed it, here’s a little clip.

Next up, after we take a break for the Cochranton Community Fair, Caleb Kopta and his band will be back on August 19th. Hope to see you all there!
