We had the honor this morning to treat the residents and staff at Green Meadows to manicures and pedicures!

We even had some of the men join us!

We are thankful for the opportunity to hear their stories, make new friends, and treat these wonderful people to a special morning.

What a fantastic day!

We started this morning at our courthouse for a fantastic Memorial Day program. We provided refreshments for our community and got to socialize as well.

Afterwards, we were able to meet with Ms. Priscilla McIntyre from "Camp Good Grief" in Eastman, GA.

The camp welcomes children who are going through any type of grief including losing a loved one, foster care situations, to bullying and anything in between. This is such a wonderful service for our area by allowing and teaching these kids how to cope through their grief with pet therapy, art therapy, music therapy, and the teaching of Jesus.

We are honored to help such an incredible organization!

It's with profoundly broken hearts we announce the passing of one of our most beloved members.

Mrs. Kitchens was such a valuable asset to our club and it's members. She was not only a local club member but has served on district and state level committees.

To say we will miss her is an understatement. Please continue to keep her family and our club in your prayers in the coming days as we say our goodbyes to our dear friend.

Oneta Cannon Kitchens, age 84, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, March 29, 2025. A proud native of Cochran, Georgia, Oneta was the daughter of James Wiley and Alma Lee Cannon. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cochran. After graduating from Cochran High School in

The building and grounds are open to anyone wanting to take pictures on Friday April 4th from 3-5 p.m.

Did you know we are one of 63 clubs in the state of Georgia who come together for charitable projects and fellowship?

Did you know last year we performed over 250+ hours of community service to Bleckley county?

We did all of that and so much more in 2024. Imagine what we could do if you joined us for 2025!!

Your local chapter of GFWC Woman's Club is at it again!

We gathered nonperishable food and drink items to donate to the school for children to take home on the weekends.

We also took a bowl of candy down for our wonderful workers at our local library.

Domestic violence.

It is a scary term. It is a taboo topic. It's hard to discuss, think about, or experience.

This post took me a while to think about how to word and publish. On Thursday October 17th we hosted a domestic violence awareness seminar. We had many guest speakers as you can see in the photo attached. Our goal was to not only raise awareness but to also help educate our town about this.

No one from the public came.

At first I felt as though the entire endeavor was a failure, but truthfully it turned out wonderful. We sat with all these individuals and talked in detail about many various aspects of domestic violence for well over an hour. It was an extremely informative experience.

One of our missions as the Cochran Woman's Club is to do our part in helping to end or prevent any type of domestic violence.

Did you know domestic violence calls rank in the top 5 most common calls in Bleckley county?

This isn't the only time we will have one of these type of seminars. I urge all of you to try to attend our next one. It's information I hope none of you will have to ever use, but if the event arrives that you do, you need to have the information.

The Cochran Woman's Club would like to publicly thank Bleckley County Sheriff's Office, Cochran Police Department, and Ms. Laurie Martin from WINGS.

💥Did you know October is Domestic Abuse Awareness Month?💥

The GFWC International Woman's Club takes this case very seriously.
Your local woman's club wants to help in any way that we can.

On Thursday October 17th at the Community House in town, we will be hosting a seminar with multiple guest speakers on the subject.

While it is a very sensitive topic, we feel it is necessary to understand how to help or even how to get yourself or a loved one the help they may need.

This is a FREE event!

We look forward to helping our community with this and seeing you there!

At our meeting today, we had the honor of having Ms. Laurie Martin from WINGS in Dublin. Club members also put together goodie bags for the residents with things to hopefully brighten their day.
