Join us for our next fundraiser webinar: "Centering Children & Language Reclamation in Land Back & Ecological Justice"
Thursday, September 17, 2026
12:00 PM – 1:30 PM MST
The future of land back and ecological justice runs through our children and our languages. Join a powerful conversation with:
Dr. Lyla June Johnston: Musician, scholar, and community organizer bridging Indigenous land stewardship, language, and healing
Trisha Moquino: Co-founder and leader at Keres Children's Learning Center and the Indigenous Montessori Institute
Dale Naranjo: Outdoor culture teacher at Keres Children's Learning Center
Emi Aguilar: Director of Membership & Radical Collaboration at Black Liberation Indigenous Sovereignty (BLIS) Collective
Moderated by Margarita Acosta, Co-Director of the Indigenous Montessori Institute.
We'll explore how language reclamation and land stewardship are inseparable, why "one-hour language classes" aren't enough, and why the land back movement must re-center children and language for the Landback movement to truly live into what it intends to do.
This webinar is also a fundraiser for IMI's work reclaiming and centering Indigenous education.
