Awesome workshop last night here with and
Water management is a crucial consideration of any land management system. As we begin to deviate in the duration and frequency of rain events, it is important to consider the "stop it, spread it, save it" mentality. The farm system is another piece we are aiming to create within a larger system - with all of its biological, physical, and chemical processes. As these continue to fluctuate with collective global inputs, and as we continue to experience more stochastic weather events, we can work with the land to protect any investments we put forth - while working toward stewarding and increasing biodiversity and resiliency.
Pictured are areas of the farm discussed in the workshop. Since putting the swale in conjunction with the pond, water quality has improved ten-fold and biodiversity along with it (you'll note the crazy wildfire smoke of 2023 and mucky pond). We aim to increase the scope of this work on the land here at Unbroken Acres.

Farm stand update - we're closing the stand on Wednesdays and Thursdays. We will be open only on Fridays - Sundays from 10 AM to 6 PM moving forward. This decision is coming from a place of limits. Limits to what the land is capable of and my own.
For those who are new here, I (Anna) am the only one working the field day to day (while we do have some amazing folks who come and volunteer their time..) I've had an increasingly harder time keeping up with all the aspects of Unbroken Acres -- from mentoring new farmers, workshops, events, new plantings, and operating the stand. So we hope that you can understand, and we look forward to seeing you this weekend.
