During a recent visit to the correctional center, volunteers met with the women for our Discovery Bible study that focused on the narrow road that leads to life.

The conversation opened the door for deep and honest sharing, and we felt led to pause the study and spend time in prayer. For some of the women, prayer was unfamiliar, and they weren’t sure how to begin. It became a meaningful opportunity to teach them that prayer doesn’t have to be complicated, it’s simply a way to talk with God, bring Him our struggles, and ask for His guidance and strength.

It was a powerful moment to show them that they can turn to God at any time and that He hears them. The women also expressed a strong desire for one-on-one connections with our volunteers who can spend time listening, encouraging, and walking alongside them.

Even behind bars, the need for hope, connection, and community remains powerful.

Starting over takes courage. Whether it means rebuilding relationships, finding stability, or simply believing that a different future is possible, no one should have to do it alone.

At New Mornings, we walk alongside women as they prepare for reentry and begin the next chapter of their lives, offering encouragement, practical support, and hope through Christ.
