Chester County Highway Safety Project CCHSP is a federal grant program funded through PennDOT

The Chester County Highway Safety Project (CCHSP) is housed within the Chester County Department of Emergency Services. Our main goal is to help reduce unnecessary injuries and fatalities on our roadways through educational programs, trainings and community events. CCHSP offers free programs to all schools, colleges, community groups, church groups, hospitals and businesses. We also have a resource library full of information relating to car seat safety, pedestrian safety, school bus safety, motorcycle safety, bike safety, DUI, DUI-D, mature driver safety, to name a few. Additionally, CCHSP sets up law enforcement trainings, schedules all aggressive driving and occupant protection enforcement details with law enforcement agencies, conducts car seat checks each month and attends health and wellness fairs throughout the County.

Pennsylvania has begun a period of providing extra awareness around seat belt use and enforcement of state laws. If you are under 18, not using a seat belt is a primary offense. You can and will be pulled over and ticketed. Currently our stats tells us that about 89% of our residents wear their seat belts. 89% is great if you are taking a spelling or science test---BUT we need 100% of our residents wearing their seat belts! If 57,000 people in Chester County are not wearing their seat belts, imagine all of the injuries or worse that can take place during a crash. PLEASE make it click!

Not only do these mirrors cause burns on car seat fabric during the hot days of summer--in a crash, they become projectiles right over your child's face. They also distract the driver when eyes are taken off the road. Please avoid using these mirrors, cameras or other add on items!
