Thistle Hills

Thistle Hills Our mission at Thistle Hills is to serve women who are survivors of trafficking and addiction and deserve a second chance at life.

Thistle Hills is a residential program and soon-to-be social enterprise located in the rolling hills of Coatesville, PA. We help transform the lives of women who have been trafficked and addicted. We are a residential program that supports women in recovery and help them get back on their feet and heal from trauma. Our Program
There are four phases that correspond to stages of individual change an

d growth within the sanctuary of community:

0–6 MONTHS OF RESIDENCY
Welcome to the Circle
During the first six months of residency residents are encouraged to focus on recovery from addiction, set goals for personal, financial, and family health, rest, and learn to live in the community.

6–12 MONTHS OF RESIDENCY
Consider the Thistle
Starting in Phase Two residents are referred to community providers for weekly individual therapy to begin to address the connection between childhood experiences, addiction, trafficking, and/or prostitution.

12–24 MONTHS OF RESIDENCY
Find Your Way Home
In Phase Three of residency, women will work closely with the Program Services Team to transition into independent living. They are expected to participate in all requirements and responsibilities of community life, all aspects of the Thistle Hills program, set an example and provide leadership for the newer residents, and continue to practice and live in active recovery. Thistle Hills will continue to assist with the educational endeavors of women in Phase Three in order that they might complete their educational goals. GRADUATION & BEYOND
A Sister for Life

After successful completion of the first three phases, residents graduate and become Sisters for Life. 🎓💜 Welcome Nikki to Thistle Hills! 💜🎓

We are excited to welcome Nikki, a Social Work Intern from West Chester University to the Thistle Hills family for the 2026–2027 academic year!

We are grateful for our partnership with West Chester University and the opportunity to support the next generation of social workers in gaining meaningful hands-on experience in a trauma-informed environment.

Over the course of the academic year, she will have the opportunity to learn alongside our staff, support the women of Thistle Hills, and see firsthand the transformative power of safe housing, compassionate support, healing, and empowerment.

At Thistle Hills, we believe that learning goes both ways. While we hope to share our experience and knowledge, we know our interns bring fresh perspectives, energy, compassion, and new ideas to our community.

We are so happy to have Nikki with us and look forward to a wonderful year together! 🌿💜

Welcome to Thistle Hills!

// Grow your self-awareness with purpose and persistence

At the end of every Set Your Sights on Organizational Leadership program, we ask the cohort how they have changed as a leader. Tiffany shared:

"I have become more intentional about how I show up in leadership spaces."

Being mindful about your actions can significantly change the way you relate to your team. Tiffany had that experience at NELI:

"One of the biggest shifts for me has been developing a deeper sense of self-awareness.

"I've learned to pause and reflect more, rather than react, especially in high-stress or emotionally charged situations. This has helped me lead with more empathy, patience, and clarity, particularly in my work supporting women in recovery, where understanding individual needs and experiences are essential."

ABOUT SET YOUR SIGHTS ON ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP

As a middle manager, you’re the expert at directing a program or running a department. You’re frequently confronted with competing demands from leadership and direct reports. Moving up has its own set of challenges.

In Set Your Sights you will gain the tools you need to broaden your perspective to think and act systemically.

-Who should apply?-

Set Your Sights is designed for the middle manager who wants to advance to a senior or executive position. Ideally, applicants have a minimum of three years of professional experience that includes program management and/or direct supervision responsibilities.

The program is also a fit for new senior leaders as well as Executive Directors of small organizations who wish to hone their organizational skills.
