Please join us for our first annual Coalinga Public Safety Open House. October 16th from 11am-4pm. Both PD and Fire will be opening up their stations to the public to tour and meet your local police officers and firefighters.

Both Associations will be providing food and there will be demonstrations and goody bags for the kids. Please come by and meet your local public safety employees!

Employee Spotlight

This week, we would like to introduce you to Officer Francisco Ybarra.

Officer Francisco Ybarra has been with the Coalinga Police Department since 2017.

In 2019, he got assigned to the K9 Unit and has since been partnered up with K9 Eli.

K9 Eli is a three-year-old Belgian Malinois.

Officer Ybarra’s favorite part of the job is being a positive role model to the youth of Coalinga and a mentor to new officers within the Coalinga Police Department.

Officer Ybarra has attended many different trainings to include crisis intervention, mental health awareness, K9 Patrol School, K9 Narcotic School, Gang trainings, Criminal Interdiction School, Robert Presley Institute of Criminal Investigation Core Course, and many more.

Officer Ybarra and his K9 Partner, Eli, were recently awarded a Unit Citation for their actions in a critical incident in May of 2021.
