We know we’ve been awfully quiet lately and we apologize! We have an announcement and a celebration coming up that we had planned to put out on FB, but the new rules for pages has been dampening all plans. We’ve been trying to figure out how best to work around it as well as which social media platform we’ll make into our main one. Don’t worry, we’ll still post on Facebook for all of our amazing followers. It just wont be *as* much as normal.

That said, we wanted to let everyone know that after TWO rounds of heartworm treatment, Scout is finally heartworm NEGATIVE! 🎉🎉

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Furry Friends Fundraiser that InspireDesign Jewelry hosted for us and Rescued! They were able to raise $2,000 for EACH organization! Both of our organizations will definitely put these funds to excellent use!

‼️‼️ PSA ‼️‼️

Thanks to our friends at InspireDesign Jewelry, we were made aware of the new Meta One subscription plans for business pages. We’re also posting this so our fellow rescuers and shelters who follow us are also aware of what is happening.

In order to be able to post the links for our wishlists, fosters, adoption applications, donation links, and everything else we post like we currently do, we would need to pay per month! I took these screenshots directly from Meta (and did not crop them so you can see this).

That said, we will probably be transitioning to our other platforms as our main ones. We cannot afford this, nor do we think any of our other nonprofit or small business friends can afford this. In no world would we be requesting donations to be able to afford to do this instead of vet care. $500 per month is quite a lot for us and helps a lot of animals and we’d much rather spend it on the animals.

We are flabbergasted. This will hurt so many nonprofits and small businesses who use Meta platforms as their main platforms. The lower tier ones are still expensive and put a drastic limit on links, and free is only 2 links PER MONTH. Imagine, any shelter or rescue that have online adoption applications can only post that twice a month with their adoptable animals. And without these links in each post, it’ll be hard for followers to find them in prior posts.

We’re just…bewildered. 😭
