Hi Families, thanks for a great time last night at our Trunk or Treat and Scouting for Food relay (Mule Team 6 Relay). Feel free to drop some photos if you snagged them. I’m still smelling dairy creamer everywhere I go and feel like I should eat some waffles. You gathered 80lbs of food on this go around, let’s keep it going to fill our community food pantry! …And Rebeka just brought me waffles.

Calling all adventurers!

This Saturday September 5th is our kick off of Monthly Adventures with Mr. Pickett

(Buford Dam) Laurel Ridge to Bowman's Island:

Park at the Lower Overlook, which is just to the left after crossing the Dam, on the Lake side, not the river side. Parking is free. (Don't go to the Lower Pool West Lot)

This will be 3 miles total, and not too strenuous, as we build our fitness in preparation for some of the big Fall h ikes!

- Class B with good walking shoes - possibility to get dirty.

- 6 Essentials as always.

- Perhaps swim attire if parents allow kiddos to plunge after the hike.

- Picnic opportunity if we decide to have a cookout after our hike!

- Plenty of fishing spots if Den Leaders want to knock out some requirements!

Our AOL Den kicked off the year off with our Swim Elective. The big swim test for the troop level is at the end of this academic year. This is a great way to build those skills and prepare for attempting the test!
