‼️Public Service Announcement for my fellow campers, hikers, paranormal investigators, Bigfoot researchers, and outdoors people… 👣🌲

This past weekend in the Georgia mountains, I picked up TWO ticks while out in the woods. One of them in particular has been brutal.

At first, because of the location and symptoms, I honestly thought I might have Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. The bite area became extremely painful and itchy with major swelling, redness, irritation, and even weeping pus. No “bullseye rash” symptoms so far.

What shocked me was that after seeing my doctor today, she’s actually leaning more toward Lyme disease or another tick-borne illness, even though Lyme isn’t considered super common around here.

My symptoms hit HARD and fast:
Off and On Fever.
Heavy flu-like symptoms.
Legs feeling like they weigh a thousand pounds.
Completely drained physically and mentally.
Confusion.
Blank stares.
No appetite.
Feeling like no amount of rest is enough.

The crazy part? The first blood test will most likely come back NEGATIVE even if you have it because your body may not have built enough antibodies yet. They’re already planning to retest me again in 4 weeks if needed.

Yesterday Teladoc started me on doxycycline, and today my doctor actually INCREASED the dosage after seeing me in person.

Please hear me on this:
DO NOT ignore your body after a tick bite.
Don’t wait for a perfect bullseye.
Don’t wait until you’re seriously sick.
And don’t assume “that doesn’t happen here.”

The woods are beautiful… but those tiny little bloodsuckers can wreck you faster than people realize. 🕷️🌲

Check yourselves. Check your kids. Check your pets. Check each other.

What an absolutely incredible weekend in the North Georgia mountains. 🌲👣

Lisa from Lisa’s Escapades and I spent two days completely off-grid in a beautiful primitive location that definitely had some serious squatchy energy surrounding it. From the moment we got there, it just felt like one of those places that holds stories deep in the woods.

Without giving too much away, because I want everyone to experience it when the episode drops this week on Lisa’s Escapades, let’s just say this trip was packed with adventure, laughs, amazing sights, hiking, great food, and memories I won’t forget anytime soon.

It was so good seeing Lisa again. We always seem to fall right back into step whenever we get out into the woods together exploring, researching, squatching, and just appreciating everything the outdoors and the Bigfooting community has to offer. Lisa and I were once on a team together years ago when I lived in Florida, and over time we’ve built a really strong friendship and deep respect for one another and for this field.

The weather was absolutely perfect all weekend and honestly… I already cannot wait to get back out there again.

Lisa also surprised me with one of her Lisa’s Escapades mugs as a gift, which absolutely made my day. ❤️☕️
