🧡Hi, I’m Miss Boots.

Before I was rescued, I lived at Oasis Mobile Home Park in Thermal, one of the largest cat colonies Desert Paws Sanctuary has worked to help. Life was tough for a little orange tabby like me.

When I was only about four months old, I was trapped during a TNR effort. I was supposed to be spayed, but I was so sick with a severe upper respiratory infection that I needed medical treatment first. After receiving an antibiotic injection, I was returned to my colony.

A little while later, the rescue team came back to help more cats in the area, and they trapped me again. Unfortunately, I was still sick and struggling. Even though the rescue was already full, they knew they couldn’t leave me behind.

That’s when everything changed.

They welcomed me into rescue, gave me the care I needed, and named me Miss Boots. For the first time, I didn’t have to worry about surviving outside. I could focus on healing, growing stronger, and learning what it feels like to be loved.

Today, I’m healthy, safe, and ready to find a forever family of my own. My days of being a sick little kitten on the streets are behind me, and I can’t wait to start the next chapter of my life with someone who will love me forever.

Riley say…

Not too long ago, I was doing my best to care for my four kittens underneath La Chicanita Market in Thermal. It wasn’t the safest place for a little family, but it was all we had.

One day, a kind person noticed that one of my kittens was trapped underneath the market and needed help. As they looked closer, they realized there wasn’t just one kitten. There was an entire family living beneath the building.

The rescue wasn’t easy. One of my babies stayed hidden underneath the market, and despite everyone’s efforts, no one could reach them. After a long day of waiting and hoping, my kitten finally came close enough for the rescue team to safely trap them.

When the rescuers met me, they quickly realized I wasn’t feral at all. I was a sweet, loving mama who was still nursing my babies and doing everything I could to keep them safe.

Now we’re all safe in foster care. My kittens are growing, playing, and learning to trust people, and I can finally relax knowing they don’t have to worry about where their next meal will come from.

I raised three beautiful daughters and one handsome son, and watching them thrive has been the greatest gift.

💔 We need your help. 💔

When we rescued the family from Mecca, we thought they were finally safe. Mom, dad, and their five puppies were out of danger and on their way to a better life.

One of the puppies seemed a little quieter than the others. She slept and ate a lot, her stool was normal and we hoped she was simply adjusting. Then everything changed. She stopped eating.

We immediately isolated her and rushed her for testing. Our worst fear became reality. She tested positive for parvo.

After recently losing a puppy to this devastating virus, we knew we couldn’t waste a second. We started her on the parvo antibody treatment right away. The veterinarian strongly recommended that all of her siblings receive the same treatment since they have all been exposed.

Right now, the other four puppies are still eating, playing, and acting normal. Mom and dad are doing well. But parvo can strike fast, and we do not want to wait until it’s too late.

This treatment is a huge expense for our rescue, but these puppies deserve every chance to survive.

Please consider helping us save this family. Any donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference. You can also support us through our Amazon Wish List by sending much-needed supplies such as:
🐾 Nutri-Cal
🐾 P*e pads
🐾 Baby Blue puppy kibble

Time is critical. We are doing everything we can, but we cannot do it alone.

Please donate, share, and help us give these puppies a fighting chance.

Happy Adoption Day, Onyx! 🖤🐾

The Horwitz family has officially welcomed Onyx into their home, and he even gained a new furry sibling! We couldn’t be happier for this sweet boy as he begins his new life surrounded by love.

Onyx’s story started in heartbreak when he and his siblings were found abandoned in a bucket in Thermal during the extreme heat. Thankfully, a good Samaritan stepped in, and his journey to a better life began.

This special pup was bottle-fed by Jazmin and later fostered by Eva, who helped him grow into the loving, social puppy he is today. Thank you to Jazmin and Eva for giving Onyx the care, love, and support he needed to reach this wonderful moment.

Congratulations to Onyx and the Horwitz family. We can’t wait to see all the memories you’ll make together! ❤️🐾🏡

✨ Riley & Reagan ✨
These Good Friday babies are still waiting for their forever homes. These two are about 3 months old.

Riley and Reagan have grown into beautiful, sweet, and playful kittens who are ready to find families of their own. They may be a little shy when meeting new people or adjusting to a new environment, but once they feel safe, their loving personalities begin to shine.

Raised in foster care, they’ve learned to live with other cats, enjoy playtime, and appreciate all the comforts of being loved. They’re the kind of kittens who just need a little patience and a chance to settle in before showing you how special they truly are.

One sibling has already been adopted, and we’re hoping Riley and Reagan are next.

They’ll be visiting the Petco Palm Desert cattery on weekends to help them get seen while they continue adjusting at their own pace.
Please share, sometimes the perfect family is just one post away.

💫 Kylie Came, She Saw, She Got Adopted! 🧡
Well, that was fast!

Kylie made her very first appearance at the cattery on Saturday afternoon, and it didn’t take long for her to find her forever family. This sweet, sassy orange girl quickly stole the hearts of Bishop and Jayce, and we’re so excited for her next chapter.

Kylie has also gained a new furry sibling, Cuddi, and we know she’ll fit right in. With her playful personality, affectionate nature, and classic orange-cat antics, she’s sure to keep her new family entertained.

A special thank you to her foster, Crystal, who cared for Kylie after she was found suffering from an upper respiratory infection. Because of Crystal’s dedication and care, Kylie grew into the healthy, happy, and confident kitten she is today.

Congratulations to Bishop and Jayce on their newest family member, and congratulations to Kylie on finding the loving home she deserves. Have the best life, sweet girl!

💕 Happy Tails for Winnie! 💕

Winnie has officially found her forever home with Regina and her daughter! After spending time in foster care with Elyse, this sweet girl is starting her next chapter surrounded by love and has gained a new furry sibling to show her the ropes.
Watching kittens go from uncertain beginnings to cherished family members is what rescue is all about, and we couldn’t be happier for Winnie. Thank you to Elyse for fostering her and helping her grow into the wonderful kitten she is today, and thank you to Regina for opening your heart and home.

Now that Winnie has been adopted, her brother Waffles is the last kitten from the litter still looking for a forever family. And of course, their wonderful momma aka Momma Bear, is also hoping her turn will come soon.

Could Waffles or Momma Bear be the missing piece in your family?
Congratulations, Winnie! We can’t wait to watch your new adventures unfold.
