Clyde Woman's Club

Clyde Woman's Club Nearly 50 years later, we continue with their vision. We strive to continue their legacy and support our community.

Local woman's club that promotes higher intellectual, moral, social and civic conditions in the community through the cooperation of women united for friendship and mutual helpfulness. Our club was formed in 1975 by a group of visionary women in our community whose goal for the Clyde Woman’s Club was this: to promote higher intellectual, moral, social and civic conditions in the community through

the cooperation of women united for friendship and mutual helpfulness. We provide scholarships to graduating girls from Clyde High School and support our community in many other ways.

December 3, 2025 Meeting:
The members of the Clyde Woman's Club held their regular monthly meeting. Our program was a wonderful performance by the Clyde High School Gold Rush Choir under the direction of Heather Baker, Director. Our members love when Gold Rush performs their Christmas program for us. From up tempo sleigh rides to the slower true meaning of Christmas songs, we enjoy each and every song in their performance! Members look forward to it each year. Our meal was provided by members and included traditional lasagna, chicken alfredo lasagna, salad, bread and dessert. We had a discussion about the upcoming Tour of Homes and Bake Sale on 12/14/2025 which is the fundraiser for our Scholarship Program. Our hostesses provided a fun and cozy Christmas atmosphere for us to enjoy.

November 5, 2025 Meeting:
The members of the Clyde Woman's Club held their regular monthly meeting. Our program was Fraud Prevention and Information provided by Billy Sides, First Financial Bank of Abilene. Mr. Sides informed us about various scams and attempts to steal from people, especially the elderly population, that the bank and financial institutions see on a daily basis. He discussed ways to protect and to be vigilant with our private and financial information. In our continued effort to support our local businesses, lunch was provided by Thirsty's. We had a wonderful baked potato bar and assorted pies for dessert. Nick Saab, owner of Thirsty's, is always a great supporter of our local fish fry fundraiser so we are happy to return the favor and support him with our business. Our hostesses provided a beautiful setting in anticipation of Thanksgiving.

October 1, 2025 Meeting:
The members of the Clyde Woman's Club held their regular monthly meeting and heard from Mr. Bryan Allen, Superintendent of Clyde ISD. Mr. Allen provided members with very interesting information about our school, school finance and taxes, testing and issues that the administration and teachers face daily at our schools. It was a very eye opening and informative discussion. In an effort to support our local businesses, lunch was provided by Subway. Subway is always a great supporter of our local fish fry fundraiser so we are happy to return the favor and support them with our business. Our hostesses provided a beautiful fall tablescape.

September 3, 2025 Meeting:
The members of the Clyde Woman's Club met in their opening meeting of the year. We celebrated with A Walk Down Memory Lane - 50 Years of Clyde Woman's Club. In honor of the first meeting of the club which was a seated tea, members enjoyed finger sandwiches, pinwheels, cheese rounds, fruit, scones and tea. Members were gifted their own tea cup as a keepsake of the day. We were excited and blessed to have charter member, Carolyn Carpenter, attend our meeting. We heard stories of the history of the club and heard memories from several members. We look forward to continuing the work of our club and supporting the Clyde community for many more years.
