It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mitchell "Mitch" Lane Sellars. He was surrounded by his loved ones as he entered into his glorious heavenly home on July 18, 2026. With hearts full of gratitude, we celebrate the remarkable life of a wonderful man whose kindness, warmth, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew him.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Sellars will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, July 24, 2026, at Stuart Auditorium, 20 Chapel Drive, Lake Junaluska, NC. The family will be receiving friends at the auditorium from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm before the funeral service. Burial will be in Crawford / Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde

Clyde Fire Department lost a hero today. Mitch Sellars retired Chief of Clyde Fire and Captain of Skyland Fire Department will be greatly missed. Mitch had a big influence on many young Firefighters as they grew in the fire service. He was respected by many and will be remembered forever . Clyde Fire Department extends our deepest condolences to Chief Sellars Family and his fire service family
