This beautiful holiday tradition raises critical funds to support Hartley House and its mission of serving victims of domestic violence throughout our community.

Want to make a difference? We're currently looking for individuals, businesses, organizations, and groups to decorate and donate a Christmas tree or wreath for this year's event!

Long after physical injuries heal, survivors may continue to carry the emotional and psychological effects of what they endured. Trauma can leave lasting impacts, including PTSD, anxiety, fear, hypervigilance, difficulty trusting others, shame, and changes in how a person sees themselves and the world around them.
Emotional and psychological abuse can leave deep wounds of their own, even when there was never a bruise to point to. Being threatened, controlled, humiliated, isolated, manipulated, or repeatedly made to question your own reality can affect a survivor long after the relationship ends.
Emotional or psychological healing does not follow the timeline as bruises. Survivors deserve compassion, support, and the time and space to heal from all of the wounds abuse leaves behind, including the ones no one else can see.
Just because you can't see the injury doesn't mean it isn't real.

Violence doesn't always start with a bruise.
Punching walls, breaking doors, throwing objects, and destroying property are often acts of intimidation. They send a message without saying a word: "This could be you next."
No one should have to wonder if they'll be the next thing that gets hit.
