A RICH PAST AND A BRIGHT FUTURE

Sierra Toastmasters has been making leaders in the valley for more than 75 years! It is the longest running and most well-known Toastmasters club in the valley. For four years in a row Sierra Toastmasters has attained the highest recognition, i.e. Two of our members have reached the highest level in Toastmasters, i.e. Distinguished Toastmaster (less than 1% of memb

ership worldwide has achieved this distinction). We expect to have our Third DTM this year! Two of our members, again women, have published their own books! Our members come from diverse backgrounds (students, teachers, authors, engineers, doctors, nurses, upper and middle managers, accountants, attorneys, paralegals, and entrepreneurs to name a few). Diversity (gender, race, ethnicity, and culture) of our members has enriched our learning experience. Cognitive Intelligence (IQ) alone is not sufficient to be successful in today’s business environment. Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is playing an increasingly important role. Further, effective communication is one of the key components of EQ. The Craig School of Business’s mission to provide high quality business and economics education to a diverse student body, and Sierra Toastmaster’s mission to empower individuals and provide a supportive and positive learning experience, go hand-in-hand. Vision
To create a sustainable strategic partnership between the two iconic institutions in the valley, i.e. Sierra Toastmasters and Craig School of Business, by
1. Attracting members (students and professionals) with PASSION and COMMITMENT
2. Ensuring diversity of membership (gender, geography, culture, profession, language, etc.), and fostering leadership skills (ability to connect with people with diverse and different points of view) needed in today’s competitive global economy.
3. Raising the brand value of both iconic institutions by:
a. Setting high expectations for both students and professionals. Offering a higher learning experience for both students and

once per month. Establish/update tracking system for all members in “classic”
