Wow, what a night! I must say the first HIH fundraiser was a success! We raised enough funds to ensure every athlete will be able to play in the Ultimate Frisbee league this Spring on Justin Zrenner's team he coaches in Olmsted Falls. Enough was raised so HIH can finally file for the 501(c)(3) tax exemption status. And there should be enough in the bank account after filing to help fund the next fundraiser.
It is was quite a learning experience, some trial and error, but now my team has a better understanding of what to do for the next event.
Speaking of my "team" of supporters and volunteers, from the bottom of my heart I want to thank you all for your help last night, and for some over the last few months of planning and making this event a reality! Number one is my mom and dad. They did all the ground work while I was in New Mexico. They are amazing and I am grateful to call them my parents! Thank you Anne Norton and Ginnie Arslanian for the idea in the first place. Thank you to Jenny Swislocki Rutkowski and Joel Rutkowski for all your help yesterday and for donating a basket. Thanks to my lil sis Taylor Hanna for volunteering and your prize donations. Justin Zrenner was also a huge help selling the big prize tickets. Thanks again to my dad for working tickets at the door and Adam Rockhold for working the side board!
Another special thanks to Shanna Tokarsky for her donation. You will have two new eager men learning how wonderful Crossfit is at your box soon!
Thank you to the management and support staff at Razzles for hosting us and for flawless service all night.
Finally, and most important, thank you to every single person who came out last night or those who couldn't make it but donated to the cause. Every single person, friends or family, was a hero last night and made the event a success. I hope you had some fun and ate/drank well!
We look forward and hope to see you all at our next event which should be happening in Spring 2014!
