Today we also remember and recognize the commitment and devotion of Sheriff Steve Magarian who passed away last September 22nd, just prior to the Memorial's completion. Sheriff Magarian joined the Fresno Sheriff Memorial Foundation in the fall of 2022, serving as a Trustee with Sheriff Zanoni and Sheriff Mims. During this project, Sheriff Magarian impacted the lives of hundreds of volunteers, our design and construction team, and the families of our 21 fallen members. As a leader, he helped raise millions of dollars to build our Memorial, fund our Endowment, and help build our future Heritage Center. Throughout, he ensured we kept the promise to NEVER FORGET our mission; to Honor our Fallen and serve their families.

His Leadership, Generosity, and Devotion to Duty is to be recognized. His Friendship, Love and Kindness will forever be remembered.

It was wonderful to welcome these students to the Memorial and see their curiosity as they learned about the Memorial, its meaning, and the heroes on the Wall of Honor.

Teaching the next generation about the history of the Sheriff's Office and the importance of remembering those who have given all in service to our community is a special part of the Memorial Foundation’s mission.

We’re grateful for opportunities like this to share, educate and possibly spark an interest in law enforcement for the next generation.

We will never forget. www.fresnosheriffmemorial.org

Even in the stillness of these hot summer nights, the lion's watchful presence stands guard for the 21 fallen heroes on the Wall of Honor and beside the Eternal Flame. Nearby, the notes of the bagpiper and the timeless bond of mother and child serve as quiet reminders that love, sacrifice, and remembrance endure—day and night. We will never forget.

The Memorial is open 24/7~please take a moment and see it first-hand. 1129 N. Armstrong at the Area 2 Substation, near Belmont and Armstrong in southeast Fresno.
