A public meeting on a transportation study, but also…proof that the city sure can schedule special meetings at a convenient time for the working class, when they so choose. Odd it hasn’t occurred to them, with all the public feedback, that topics such as a data center should perhaps have a dedicated town forum meeting time.

It's the 'Clovis Way' to schedule a public meeting when most working people cannot attend. This meeting will include a discussion of data center zoning. Please attend if you are able and/or contact the Mayor and City commissioners to let them know they should provide more notice AND schedule meetings when their voting populace can actually attend.

During the Planning & Zoning Commission meeting on Wednesday, October 14, the topic of Data Centers will be discussed. The meeting will start at 3 p.m. in the North Annex of the Clovis-Carver Library. This meeting is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.

Golly, some of us will never forget the time we visited the Roundhouse a few years ago, and our local Representative, Martin Zamora, literally hid from
and evaded us, rather than meeting with his constituents whose views may not align with his. Vote as if you care about your neighbors and your rights depend on it. Zamora would be a catastrophic choice.

The City of Clovis, NM (City Government) City Commission voted 5-3 against putting a 120 day moratorium in place against data centers. Essentially, the commissioners felt putting a moratorium in place would be like signaling a stop sign to businesses that Clovis does not welcome business. More individuals spoke in favor of a moratorium than against. We are very disappointed in our City Commission. We have also been in communication with Curry County and they have indicated there is nothing dealing with data centers at this point on their future agendas. Thank you to those who spoke at the City Commission meeting in favor of a moratorium and against welcoming a data center to Clovis.

All, the Clovis city commission did place the data center moratorium discussion on the agenda for tomorrow’s (Thursday) meeting. They will be discussing putting into place a 120 day moratorium. If you want to speak during public comment, plan to arrive fifteen minutes early so you can sign the list to speak publicly.
