Operation Phoenix Outdoors

Operation Phoenix Outdoors We are a veteran-run 501(c)(3) committed to serving military members, veterans, and first responders. Additionally, we bring youth on their first hunts.

By using the outdoors as a tool for connection and healing, we say thank you, strengthen mental health, and actively work to combat veteran su***de. "Our mission is to give back to our nation and community heroes by using the outdoors as therapy to create mental health breaks. We do this by bringing Military, Veterans, First Responders and their families on hunting and fishing trips to facilitate

fellowship, friendships, healing and hope. Our goal is to help ease the transition from military to civilian life, reduce stress, reconnect families, build friendship/healthy relationships, talk about alcohol dependency and broken families…ultimately enable conversation and relationships that help combat the 22 veteran su***des a day. We teach safety, ethical hunting, and the responsibilities of an outdoorsman or woman. Youth trips are built to strengthen bonds between heroes and their children or to be positive role models to at-risk youth/good kids in bad situations. Also, we break down barriers/physical limitations that prevent heroes from enjoying the outdoors. Finally, bring heroes on their last hunting/fishing trips “Bucket list trips” due to terminal illness…give them their last great memory of the outdoors."

***Need Help***read***

3.5 months ago the demons were too loud and Chris took his life. A former US Army Ranger that had many deployments on active duty and as a contractor he leaves behind a wife (Gabby) of 12 years and a 7 year old son (James).

The meal trains and people coming by to help have stopped and the dust has settled financially. Unfortunately Gabby has been left fighting to figure out how to save their family ranch do to debts. A ranch where Chris and James spent many hours doing father/son time and imprinted the outdoors on James.

I would hate to see them loose their dream and the place they remember Chris the most.

If you can please donate and at a minimum share on your page. Make this go viral…this is something that truely matters and deserves help!

Thanks for your consideration.

Rest easy Chris, we have the watch

Memorial Day is a reminder that freedom has never been free. It was earned by men and women who answered the call, accepted the risks, and made the ultimate sacrifice in service to something greater than themselves. Today is not about politics or division. It is about gratitude, remembrance, and honoring those who never had the chance to come home. As you enjoy time with family, friends, and the freedoms we often take for granted, take a moment to remember the fallen and the families they left behind. Their courage shaped our nation, and their sacrifice deserves more than a single day of remembrance. We honor them by never forgetting.

The Roswell Police Department is mourning the death of Officer Daniel Irvin, who passed away Wednesday night (May 13) in Roswell. Officer Irvin was assigned to RPD’s Patrol Division and had served in the department for almost four and a half years. He was 28.

At about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, RPD personnel were dispatched to an apartment in the Spring River Luxury Apartment Homes in the 1600 block of North Sycamore Avenue. Officer Irvin was found deceased from what is believed to be a self-inflicted wound. The Chaves County Sheriff’s Office helped secure the scene. The New Mexico State Police is investigating the incident. CCSO and NMSP further assisted RPD by handling all calls in the city throughout the night, until 7 a.m. Thursday.

Officer Irvin was a Field Training Officer for RPD, working with newly-sworn officers. He was named M.A.D.D. DUI Rookie of the Year in 2024. He also received numerous letters of commendation from RPD, including for apprehending an escapee from the Chaves County Detention Center and participating in the Organized Retail Crime detail.

Our condolences go out to Officer Irvin’s family and friends. RPD appreciates the support of the community during this difficult time for his law-enforcement family.

A lot of people only see the end result. A photo, a set of antlers, a successful hunt. What they don’t see are the miles walked in silence, the early mornings, the hard climbs, and the moments where life finally slows down enough for you to hear your own thoughts again. Hunting has never just been about harvesting an animal. It’s about where the journey takes you mentally, physically, and emotionally. Veterans, service members, and first responders especially understand that feeling. Somewhere deep in the mountains, far away from the noise, you reconnect with parts of yourself that everyday life slowly buried.

Happy Mother’s Day!

To celebrate these heroes among heroes we want to give away our first hunt of the year. We don’t know what type yet as we are still working tags, but you would be the first to be offered something.

This is open to military/veteran/first responder moms or mothers of them (if that makes sense). Open nationwide.

This is for a 2026 season, no experience needed, we have gear if needed, somewhere in NM…bottom line we will bring you hunting!

Comment with “unsung heroes” and we will draw someone on 16 May.

Happy Mother’s Day and thank you for all your sacrifices

Today we want to recognize the true backbone behind so many of our Military, Veterans, and First Responders — the spouses and families who stand beside them every single day.

Thank you for the sacrifices nobody sees, the long nights, the missed holidays, the constant support, and the strength you provide through every challenge. Your love, patience, and resilience make a difference far beyond words.

At Operation Phoenix Outdoors, we know healing, hope, and purpose are built through family and community — and none of it would be possible without you.

From all of us at OPO… Happy Spouse Appreciation Day, and thank you for everything you do. 🇺🇸❤️
