I was highly encouraged to see groundwater monitoring and sustainable management on the Albuquerque Journal front page today. This kind of visibility matters. Thank you to Cathy Cook for her thoughtful reporting, and to the New Mexico Groundwater Alliance, the report’s co-authors, reviewers, and partners who helped bring the NM GW 360 Report forward. Groundwater is a precious resource in New Mexico, essential to the future of all New Mexicans and the ecosystems we depend on.

Surface water declines will exacerbate groundwater dependence, water experts say
