Sandra Taylor-Sawyer has years of business operation and educating business owners on the roller coaster ride of business ownership. She and her husband Donald T. Sawyer, Jr. own Dream Givers, LLC and are Independent Associates of LegalShield/IDShield. Taylor-Sawyer also serves as the Director of the . Taylor-Sawyer has worked in the private and public sector as a finance manager, accountant, and educator. She has taught several business courses including accounting, computer information systems and small business management.
Dr. Taylor-Sawyer has assumed leadership roles in numerous local and statewide organizations. In 2020, she was selected to join the Finance New Mexico LLC Advisory Board. Sandra was recognized as a Women of Influence Honoree for the state of New Mexico in 2013. She is the first female African American to serve as Clovis City Commissioner. Sandra and her husband in 2016, were the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce Heart Award Recipients. This award is given to citizens who have dedicated extraordinary time, resources and heart to serving others.
She is a native New Mexican and received a bachelor's degree in accounting and business administration, as well as an MBA from Eastern New Mexico University. Sandra went on to earn a Doctor of Education-Educational Administration from New Mexico State University. Taylor-Sawyer’s published works include Community College Chief Executive Officers and the Transformational Leadership Style, Beware of Offers for ‘Free Money’ and she has written the monthly business column Everybody’s Business, which has been published in regional and national business publications.
She and her husband, Retired M.Sgt. Donald T. Sawyer, Jr. have five children and eleven grandchildren.
