Our most recent Top of the Herd grasshead winners. 6th grade students learn about recycling (landfill vs recycling center) and how even the smallest things make a big difference. They also learn about basic needs for living things (plant and animal) and the responsibility that comes with either. Then, they put all those pieces together using a recycled item for planting their grass seeds. Ultimately, 7th graders vote on the top 3(we had a tie 🤭) based on creativity and overall success.

Students are encouraged to take their masterpieces home as a reminder that no matter how small they might feel as a 6th grader, they are EACH incredibly important and can do big things! 💙💛🍀

Wednesday was ALOT but also LOTS of fun! Mums galore along with our first chapter meeting of the year. Thank you leadership team for a great afternoon leading your first meeting. Special thank you to the Newendykes for bringing and sharing all about their chickens! Finally, thank you so much to all the adult volunteers who jumped in to help referee this organized chaos 💙💛
