The book "the comet man" by Alan Hale, a combined autobiography/book about comets, is now available via the Earthrise Institute web site (http://www.earthriseinstitute.org/thecometman.html). The cost is $5, payable via PayPal to the address given there. Upon payment, you will receive a link and a password for accessing the file (a PDF document).

The book should also be available very soon via the iBook Store, and on Amazon Kindle within about a week.
