What a beautiful day at Breaks Interstate Park ☀️
We want to thank every veteran and family member who came out early on a chilly morning and spent the day with us as we enjoyed our second guided hike at the “Grand Canyon of the South.”
Our group included representation from the Army, Air Force, and Marines—a reminder that no matter the branch, the bond runs just the same.
Today, we made our way along the Ridge and Geological Trails, soaking in the views and learning so much along the way from Head Park Ranger—and fellow veteran—Ronnie Hylton. There’s just nothing quite like fresh mountain air, good company, and the kind of peace you can only find out on those trails.
Truth be told, the very best part of the day was the people.
Hearing how each person is connected to the military in their own way. Spending time sharing stories—from veterans, family members, and friends who’ve become family to those who have served. Being present for the real, honest conversations about how much it helps just having someone who truly understands. That kind of peer support means everything—for veterans, for active-duty, and for the families who walk alongside them.
We talked about what’s ahead for Rally Point, the importance of fundraising to keep these opportunities going, and what it really means to meet people where they are—in the community, in life, and in whatever season they’re walking through.
We even met a kind couple from Indiana at the Stateline Overlook who overheard us talking and offered to take our group photo. They stayed to learn about our group and what we’re building here—and that kind of support reminds us this reaches farther than we sometimes realize.
We are thankful for every single person who shows up in any way. We are grateful for the sacrifices our veterans have made, and we are proud to stand beside them as they continue to fight the battles that don’t always get seen.
This is what it’s all about—the vision Michael had when he laid the foundation for this group in 2023. Supporting one another, encouraging one another, and reminding each other just how important that connection really is.
It takes all of us to make a difference in this life—and today was a reminder of just that.
