Migration Alert for night of Apr-28, Let's Help the Birds

Did you know that many species of birds migrate at night?

High-intensity bird migration is predicted across our region tonight with 246 million birds predicted to be migrating tonight. It is estimated that over 1 billion birds die from collision with glass every year in the United States alone.

To protect birds it is recommended turning out lights from dusk tonight through dawn tomorrow morning. Your feather friends will appreciate it.

I can't do a walk on March 7 (our usual first Saturday of the month walk) so instead we will have a walk on March 14. I'll be posting an Event for it shortly. Hopefully the walkways at Spruce Run will open up by then

Hi All, I'm not going to do a walk on Feb 7 as I went to Spruce Run today and none of the paths and walk ways are open (i.e. they are covered with snow) and I don't expect that to change in the next week. Watch later for information on a walk in March.

Hi all, I’ve been traveling and realized I didn’t post an event for Saturday Dec-6. I will do so in the next day or so, but wanted to at least get this out. We will meet at our usual spot in Spruce Run Recreation Area at 8:00.
